Increasing light can change plant growth. It also changes the demands you place on the grow.

In a controlled cannabis study, flower yield increased across the tested light range, while cannabinoid concentration did not increase in the same way. That is an important distinction: more harvested flower and more concentrated flower are different outcomes.

The result does not provide one perfect setting for every cultivar, room or budget. Light distribution, crop stage and the rest of the environment still belong in the decision.

Next step: measure or map what reaches the canopy, and decide what you are trying to improve before changing the setting. Keep a record of the change and its cost. Judge a lighting decision by the whole result, not the biggest number on a controller.
