Fulvic materials are part of the wider conversation about humic substances, organic chemistry and nutrient interactions. They are complex mixtures rather than one uniform ingredient.

When a label gives a fulvic-acid percentage, ask how the value was measured and what sample basis it uses.

Why the measurement matters

A result reported on a dry-matter basis is different from a result for the material as supplied. Different analytical methods can also describe different fractions.

That means two large numbers are not necessarily a like-for-like comparison. Understanding the method is part of understanding what you are buying.

The role in a formulation

Fulvic materials are considered for interactions with nutrients and the root environment. Those interactions depend on the chemistry of the material and the conditions in which it is used.

We prefer to explain the specific ingredient and its place in the formulation rather than describe fulvic acid as a universal delivery mechanism for everything a plant needs.

What we look for

We look for an identified source, consistent preparation, a clear analysis and information about solubility and composition. The ingredient also has to work with the other components in the bottle.

Where you will meet them

ÉLAN includes fulvic materials alongside amino acids, seaweed and humic materials. Read the product page for the combined formulation's role alongside base nutrition.
