It started in our founder's father's growshop in Groningen, where the best compliment was a friend opening your jar. Today we're a small crew, still crazy about the plant we all love.
We craft, we don't mass-produce. Inputs we pick ourselves, our own process for every batch, and a small line where every bottle has a reason to be there.
Yes. Start with Élan alongside your current base feed, organic or synthetic. Keep what works and see what changes.
Because Élan replaces the shelf of boosters: amino acids, seaweed, humic and fulvic acids, all in one. The other four each do one job a booster can't: start the biology, feed growth, feed bloom, and bring calcium and magnesium. That's the shortest full program we could build. Run Élan with your own base feed, or run the whole line.
We ship across Europe from our EU store and across the USA from our US store. Somewhere else? Ask us at hi@crazyhills.com.
We don't work with every shop. If yours cares about its growers, you're more than welcome.
We don't email much. When we do, it's because we made something, or there's a deal worth taking.
Nice. You're on the list.

Doses come from the feeding chart. Water volumes and feeding frequency come from you. No copying numbers from one screen to another.
Water can bring calcium, magnesium and alkalinity before you open a bottle. Check your source before you add anything.
A heavily amended bed needs far less than a light potting mix. Feed to what your mix already holds.
Pale leaves or burnt tips? Check watering, roots, pH and environment before you change the feed. Change one thing at a time.
The pH scale doesn't change when you go organic. The root zone does. Mix your feed first, then measure and adjust. A label that promises a fixed pH means nothing without your water and your dose.
Why pH still matters in organic →The thicker the band, the easier roots can take that nutrient up. Pick your medium and slide the pH.
At pH 6.5 in potting soil ✓ Target range
Easy to take up: N, P, K, S, Ca, Mg, B, Cu, Zn Harder to take up: none
Indicative. Adapted from the classic nutrient availability charts for soil and for soilless media.
The lid turns. The aroma hits. You want somebody else to smell what you grew. Everything we craft is for that moment.

Some things are in your blood. They become your passion. And somewhere along the way, they become your life.
I was lucky enough to grow up with that, thanks to my dad.
In the ’90s, he ran BIOBOSS, one of the early growshops in Groningen. He was one crazy guy, and I love him for that. While growers around him were growing in rockwool, he grew in soil, with natural ingredients, and he was stubborn about it. I can still see him unscrewing the lid of a jar, holding it out and asking: “Can you smell that?”
That moment never left me. You’re sitting with friends around a table, a jar opens, and everybody is proud of what they grew. That’s what we share. That’s what it’s all for.
Studying pharmacy only fed my appetite for organic growing. Then came years in the nutrient business, in Holland, Spain and the USA. I learned a lot there. Maybe most of all, how not to do it.
What stayed was an obsession: where to find the best ingredients, and how to put them together. With the support of my family and with friends and growers around us, we crafted a crazy formula that brought several bioactive ingredients together in one bottle. Élan was born. From there, Crazy Hills grew into a full line.
We started in Vienna, Austria. But our name comes from Ludbreg in Croatia, which read literally means “Crazy Hill.” It’s where my mom’s family has its roots, where we came back to, and where we’ve called home since 2024.
In 2025, Crazy Hills found a second home in Oregon. And I’m really happy to see the American side of our little company growing there, little by little.
Today, we’re still a small, family-run craft company. My nephew Filip, who is like a brother to me, my wife Tamara and I take care of much of the day-to-day work. Nikola helps Filip keep production moving. Rob helps us with distribution across Europe and the UK. And Antonio is our little marketing and branding wizard, the one behind so much of how Crazy Hills looks.
Together with the rest of our crew, we make a bit of crazy magic happen here. I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve built together.
But there’s still plenty to do. And maybe we are a little crazy, because I don’t think we’ll ever stop.
It often feels like this industry is looking for another reason to make another product. And another. For me, innovation isn’t just about putting something new on the shelf. It’s about looking at what we do and asking how we can make it better. That should never stop.
Our formulas are where they are today thanks to the people who work with us, the growers who use them, and our friends in America: Mandala Grown, Platinum Barn Selections, Lion Bolt Farms and many more. They’re part of this too. They share what they see, tell us what they think, and help us keep moving forward.
We’re on a quest. If tomorrow we see a way to improve, we will. And I believe there will always be room for improvement.
We’re not here to be different. We’re here to be better every day. This is who we are.
The only one missing is my dad. He passed away in 2023. He believed we should all be free to grow. So this is my promise: we will keep fighting for that freedom, and keep sharing our love and passion for this plant.
Growing should never become something only big industry gets to do. Sometimes it feels like that’s where things are heading. But we’ll keep crafting, and we’ll keep fighting for the freedom to grow, to learn and to share.
And I’ll always have his voice in my ear: “Can you smell that?”
That moment that makes growing worth it. That’s what will keep driving us crazy, every day.

A small crew, making some crazy noise.

Back in the '90s, in BIOBOSS, our founder's father's growshop in Groningen, Holland. While much of Holland grew in rockwool, his father grew in soil, cared about every input, and loved nothing more than opening a jar and asking: can you smell that?
That passion passed from father to son, to Marijan. Who is just as crazy about it.

The shop taught us to listen. A pharmacy background made us curious about how things are made. Years in the nutrient industry showed us a lot, maybe most of all how not to do it. And they raised one question: does every ingredient really need its own bottle?
Élan was our answer, and our beginning. The same thinking runs through the line today.
So today we spend our time choosing ingredients, paying attention to where they come from and how they're processed. Because seaweed isn't just seaweed: the way it's made changes what reaches your plant.
A small line. A growing story. And still the same question: what will make this more useful to a grower?

Our obsession, our craziness, never stops. We don't believe in making a product once and selling the same formula for twenty years.
Cultivation keeps moving. So do we. We test every change in real grows, indoors, in greenhouses and outdoors, before it reaches your bottle. And then we keep asking if we can do it better.
We're not here to be different. We're here to be better every day.

Every grow is different: the method, the garden, every grower's own style. These growers believed in us early. This is our thank you.

It's our life and our passion. Growing has been family for us for a long time. From that family growshop, to today's small family business, to the next generation.
That's who we are.
In our founder's wordsThe moment that makes growing worth it.Read the founder's letter →

We know what we care about. And we know what we won't become.
A useful ingredient doesn't automatically need another bottle. We'd rather work on a useful formula than find reasons to sell you more.
Sourcing, processing and what an ingredient adds all matter. Every change has to earn its place. Fair prices, products we stand behind.
The job first. Then what's inside, why it's there and how to use it. First plant or hundredth crop.
If your current feed already works, we won't push a change. We listen first and stay around after the sale.
The family shop is where it began. The crew and the growers are who we are now. We plan to stay curious, and a little crazy.
